Justin Forman Small Group Leader at a Church in Allen, Texas What if … is an ideal series to use if you’re looking for something to kickoff your group or break through the surface level. Alan Danielson has been the small group leader for LifeChurch.tv and a few other churches with advanced small group ministries. His experience really comes through in the series as he challenges us to dig into each other’s lives and get beyond that surface level where many groups get stuck. Until we went through this series, our group had only been great at being social. We ate meals together, we hung out on the weekends but we hadn’t really gone deep beneath the surface until we watched this series. The short video stories of real couples who had been impacted by their small group is what broke the ice. It helped us define what a healthy small group should look like. After hearing those stories, couples began to open up in ways we never thought they would. They shared deep stories of personal struggles with their job, or their challenges in starting a family. It was like people had this pent up desire to share and this study helped bring it to the surface. The video clips are short, it offers a lot of great discussion starters that the group leader can build on. It was a great experience for our group.
