Kyle Eaton Rock Hill Community Church- Duluth, MN 8 Small Groups at the Church Quality: Good quality, video, and very professionally done. Usability: Very user friendly. It is a topic that needs to be addressed in every person’s life, but it is also a topic that doesn’t need to be covered in a 10 week study. I love how this is packaged in a one night study. Relevancy: This is a very relevant question and a very relevant discussion. This is a huge issue, especially among young men today. Many of these guys are wounded, and therefore running away from all responsibility and opportunities to make a difference, while simultaneously longing for their lives to count for something way bigger than themselves. Creativity: It is a great message. The video clip illustration with the girl and what is going through her mind is quite innovative and very easy to relate to. Theologically Sound: I would say that it isn’t really “weighty”- meaning that it is more motivational than insightful. It is a message that everyone needs to hear multiple times, but it is more motivational that grounding. GENERAL OVERVIEW: This is a great resource to use in the lives of your people at least once. It helps them dream and see their lives as meaning far more than simply fulfilling the American Dream. I would use it in your groups at a strategic time when you want to give your people opportunity and freedom to just dream and go after it. It could be a huge momentum booster at the right spot, but could also be more of the same if all your people are used to is “motivational stuff.” It doesn’t help that much with the “how” but it does stir in people the desire to “leave a mark.”
